We're Friday Sock Co., a locally owned and operated small business.

In partnership with The City of Calgary, we want to extend a warm welcome to you and introduce some fun and interesting features of our beautiful city. We hope you enjoy this guide.

The Scotiabank Saddledome

If you are downtown Calgary, you should inevitably see our iconic saddle-shaped arena - The Saddledome. Here - visitors can enjoy a variety of events including watching our hometown hockey team (The Calgary Flames), attend a concert or local events.

The Calgary Tower

Situated in the heart of downtown Calgary, The Calgary Tower stands at 191 meters above street level. Originally built in 1968 to celebrate Canada's centennial year, the Calgary Tower has since become a beloved landmark and a must-visit attraction for locals and tourists alike.

At the top you can check out the panoramic views, visit the Sky 360 Restaurant or experience the glass floor observation deck.

The Peace Bridge

If you are looking for some outdoor experiences - consider a walk along the Peace Bridge. You will most certainly notice it - with its vibrant red colour and expansive reach crossing the Bow River as you leave the core of downtown. It will lead you to our charming communities with local shops and high-quality restaurants. It’s also the perfect place to view the city’s incredible skyline.

The Wonderland Sculpture

Another iconic landmark. The Wonderland sculpture is a bent-wire portrait of a young girl’s head created by Jaume Plensa, a highly regarded Spanish sculptor. Sitting at 12 metres tall, this sculpture stands prominently in front of the Bow building, in downtown Calgary.

When you visit the sculpture, you can enter inside and look out from the wires. Symbolically, the sculpture represents unity, diversity, and the interconnectedness of humanity.
